JOSHCO purchased AA House in 2009. This building is situated adjacent to Noord Street taxi rank, one of the busiest in Johannesburg where there is a great need for affordable rental housing. At the time of acquisition, this building was overrun by squatters, in great disrepair and had no sewerage system to speak of. It has since been transformed into an exemplary building, providing quality rental housing units. AA House now comprises of 1 000m2 of commercial and retail space at street level, 36 affordable rental rooms offering high quality, secure and affordable accommodation with shared kitchens and bathrooms. It also has bachelor, one and two-bedroom units, safe basement parking and a play area for children. This exciting project was in great demand even before it was advertised and JOSHCO had people lining up outside their offices with applications before the project was complete.

The units at AA House cater for all walks of life ranging from rooms to a panoramic penthouse. The inner court of the building was utilized to establish a much needed play area for the children of the building.
