JOSHCO is the Municipal Rental Housing Entity of the City of Johannesburg, governed by an independent board of directors. Its core mandate is to develop affordable mix density affordable rental housing and to manage such housing in a professional and sustainable manner. JOSHCO carries out its mandate through a range of projects that are spread through the organisation’s portfolio which comprises of: conversion of Council owned hostels to family homes, refurbishment of COJ owned flats in council estates, development of new units in greenfield areas, and refurbishment of inner city buildings.
